Business Card

This assignment requires us to simplify things from realistic --> abstraction. (yet at the same time, it has to be understandable!) the abstract symbol will be the logo for the business card we are supposed to design.
so firstly, we needa decide on our company name and company product!
I tried really hard to get inspirations from my everyday life. i tried the art and animal theme related to assignment one. but both didnt work out. and just as i was stressing over assignment two, (during lunch) my eyes landed upon the bubble tea my friend just bought!

i love bubble tea! and looking back at the long queue outside the bubble tea shop. bubble tea seems to be a good business idea!
SO I DECIDED: I SHALL SELL BUBBLE TEA! :D

Here's my abstraction process!
the realistic photo:

abstraction sketches:
Other than simplifying the design, i also tried zooming into different portions of the drawing. (as suggested by julian), however, some close ups arent really clear in communicated the idea of "bubble tea"

My chosen abstraction symbol:
so in the end, i decided on the close up of the bubble tea which is still able to communicate clearly that it is a cup of bubble tea and a design which allows people to see the main points of recognition: like the pearls, the straw and the shape of the cup. the angle of this drawing is like looking at the bubble tea cup from the top.

Feel free to leave any comments on my sketches! (:
